Hello you, this is me.

Okay, this is the 3rd time I have tried to start this sentence… Maybe it will flow, or maybe not. Either way I guess it works out…Yay for editing. 

I wanted to be so many things when I was a child. A fire fighter, a doctor, a librarian, a chef, a baker, a stay at home mother. What I never thought I would be was a Massage Therapist, yet this is what I have fallen in love with. The calming environment, the ability to help in someones healing journey or just in their relaxation. All the information I learned about how the human body works was amazing and I treasure all that information and the journey that brought me here. 

I graduated from East West College of the Healing Arts in December 2023 and started Wandering Rose Bodyworks in January of 2024. I am married, with 2 fur babies. I work in a hospital, when I am not giving Massage, cleaning and sterilizing the instruments used in surgery and clinics. I have lived in a skoolie home for the past 5 years and have just purchased my first stationary home in Portland. 

 

I like to approach massage from a facilitation perspective, your body wants to function it wants balance and ease, my job is to help you with manual therapies. My favorite techniques have been pulled from a few different styles of massage. I use rocking and jostling from Tui Na, muscle activation techniques from Neuromuscular Facilitation, as well as gliding and soothing strokes from Swedish basics. Mostly I want to work with you to create the session that will benefit you the most. Also I am constantly learning, this means there will be a lot of questions and i would love to explore options you think will benefit you during the massage and for self care between sessions. We can work our way through like detectives on a case and figure out how to help you create the movement and wellness you want for your body. This might look like a referal to a Dr, naturopath, PT, OT, dietitian, or a physical trainer and together we can brainstorm how to overcome challenges to self care and succeed in your goals for physical wellbeing through the lense of massage therapy.
