HeartSong provides in-home therapeutic massage services to individuals who are either home bound, bed or wheel chair bound, or who simply prefer treatment at their place of residence.

Specializing in elder care, HeartSong’s founder and principal, Mary Ann Konarzewski, CMT, sees clients in retirement communities, rehabilitation centers, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care communities throughout Contra Costa and Alameda Counties.

Many of her clients are challenged by medical conditions which include Alzheimer’s, Lewy Body Dementia, other forms of dementia, Parkinson's, Huntington's and Tramautic Brain Injury. Others struggle with depression, loss, loneliness, and isolation.

I am state certified and have been in practice for over 20 years. In addition to my private practice, I had also worked at the Lafayette Park Hotel and Spa. My professional training is from:

How I Work, My Mission and Philosophy

I believe massage is miraculous and can work wonders. Massage can touch and heal in powerful ways that words cannot. With a nurturing heart I seek to create a space of comfort and care where well-being, peace, and wholeness can be restored. Most important and central to my work are love and presence. I believe that only through love and presence can healing at the deepest level be facilitated.

In addition to relieving sore, stiff muscles, my intention is always to facilitate a feeling of connection so that each person feels seen, heard, and cared for. My hope is to bring more peace, healiing, joy, and brightness into each life I touch.

I structure each session according to my client's needs. Clients can choose to have their massage with soothing music which I provide or in silence.

On a Personal Note

I am a published poet and an award-winning writer, a world traveler, gardener, hiker, lover of animals and nature, and voracious reader with an interest in almost everything from health and medicine, to psychology and spirituality, world art, poetry, literature, philosophy and current events. I have a B.A. in the Humanities with a focus on German Literature and East Indian Philosophy and Religion.
