About

Although we have similar anatomy, we are all individuals. Therefore, no two massages are alike as no two people are alike. Within my practice, I have many tools to choose from when it comes to therapeutic massage. Within any one session, you may receive restorative, deep tissue when needed, asian techniques gua sha or cupping; and possibly energy work when requested. I employ all of these techniques during a one hour massage at no additional cost to the client.

I became a Massage Therapist when traditional medicine did not help me. After years of hip and pelvic pain, I was referred to a physical therapist and then a massage therapist. I learned through the therapy that my soft connective tissue was ropey and fibrous where it should have been smooth. I was dependant on anti-inflammatory medication and muscle relaxers. With time the massages began to show results. The chronic pain from bursitis and a shortened hip flexor began to dissipate. I could move without pain. It felt like a miracle!

From 2006-2009 I studied and now practice the Muscle Release Technique which has broadened my target market to include clients who suffer from repetitive use injuries. Normal wear and tear on soft tissue is expected through an adult's life. However, if you are one of those who does any kind of work or activity that is repetitive..8 hours or more a day of one activity, that may result in carpal tunnel, tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, or sciatica are those in which I specialize. Generally speaking, doctors recommend surgery for treatment for many of these concerns. Massage Therapy is a more therapeutic approach. It will not cause more pain or dysfunction nor will it cause scar tissue or neurological damage. The Muscle Release Technique will stretch and massage soft tissue, resulting in more pliable, flexible, healthy muscle.

In January 2013, I resumed my education with Oncology massage. I felt compelled to take this class since I currently had a client undergoing chemotherapy and radiation for breast cancer. The last day of the class, we "practiced" on clients with cancer. I felt grateful to be present and part of my client's healing journey. She gave me permission to see her mastectomy scars and feel her new breast tissue forming with the use of tissue expanders. This woman was trusting me and including me in her very personal crisis. She felt a separation from her own body. She never thought in her life that she would be diagnosed with breast cancer as she had no risk factors. I embraced the opportunity to work with her and learn from her. Since that time, she has finished her treatment and continues her massage therapy with me. Although her massages are much different from those she had before her diagnosis, she is assured that she is receiving therapy that will not hurt her, nor add to her risk of lymphedema.

If you have been diagnosed with cancer of any form, or know of someone who has, massage therapy can be a healthy tool in the fight against cancer, by reducing the stress of treatments, plus human touch alone during this time can feel alien and unwelcome. A therapeutic massage given by a qualified therapist can make a difference on the path to recovery.

In September 2014, I joined Balanced Body Acupuncture & Chiropractic as an independent contractor. I had been wanting to practice in a more professional setting, so the timing was perfect! I had met Dr. Travis Baker in late 2011, when I saw him as a patient. He treated me for wrist and forearm tendonitis, which had become quite debilitating.

In 2016, I opened Assisted Healing Massage. Being self-employed has its benefits and its challenges. I continue to learn from my clients and teach every body the benefits of regular therapeutic massage. I now offer Medical Massage for clients struggling with sciatica, plantar fasciits, whiplash injury, tmjd and headache. Medical massage is results oriented and evidence-based. However it is also an investment as a series of massages are recommeneded for the most benefit. As of December 1, 2021 I joined Gartner Chiropractic as the in office massage therapist where I can put all of my knowledge and experience to use daily on clients young and old.

Whether you need therapy or an escape from everyday stress, together we can create change in your body and in your life! Now in 2025 I am working with Kelby Kipling at Inner Serenity Massage Studio located off 168th Ave and Cornhusker in Sarpy County. We both practice Medical and Oncology massage.
