Bowenwork is a gentle manual therapy that activates our innate healing mechanism by using a light rolling 'move' over specific receptors throughout the body. This 'move' prompts a necessary neurological message to the brain causing the restorative healing system to seek out and adjust tension patterns throughout the whole body and promotes balance in practically every system within the body. Sometimes you can actually feel that happening if you focus and 'listen' to your body 'talk'.

The Emmett Technique is another brilliant technique using brief finger holds or switches at specific points on the body. Ross Emmett, the developer of the technique, compares his work to using touch to give commands to a tablet or iPad. When you tap or swipe the screen it responds, the same happens with our body. A gentle holding point or switch at precise points can give the body commands to make a change in a matter of seconds.

Joy now offers McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release (MSTR®️) that improves scar sites caused by planned and unplanned surgeries or injuries. In only 1-3 visits, old or new scars will soften, sensation can be restored, and restrictions released. This may be included in your bodywork session or done as a stand alone appointment.
