About

About Renee’s Approach to Bodywork

My work is centered around highly individualized therapeutic massage for people dealing with pain, restricted movement, chronic tension, injury recovery, post-surgical changes, and complex musculoskeletal concerns.

Over more than six years of hands-on practice, I have worked with clients seeking support for concerns such as persistent neck and back pain, shoulder and rotator-cuff issues, hip and knee dysfunction, headaches, jaw and TMJ tension, foot and plantar pain, postural patterns, limited range of motion, and discomfort associated with chronic or orthopedic conditions.

Rather than following a predetermined routine, each session is shaped around your goals, activity level, medical and injury history, areas of tension, preferences, and how your body responds during treatment. My role is not to diagnose medical conditions, but to use massage and bodywork within my scope to help address muscular tension, movement restriction, pain patterns, and the physical stress that can accompany injury or ongoing health concerns.

Depending on your needs, treatment may incorporate deep tissue and Swedish massage, advanced neuromuscular and trigger-point techniques, myofascial work, reciprocal inhibition, assisted stretching, active soft-tissue techniques, deep hip and psoas work, sports massage, rocking, sustained holds, and other therapeutic approaches intended to support mobility, recovery, and comfort.

My broader background includes oncology and lymphatic massage, rehabilitation-supportive bodywork, craniosacral and polarity-inspired techniques, reflexology, Shiatsu, traditional Chinese meridian concepts, traditional Thai massage, aromatherapy, and experience working alongside chiropractors and physical therapists.

I have worked with athletes, people recovering from injury or surgery, clients with chronic pain and complex tension patterns, oncology clients, burn survivors, adolescents age 12 and older, and people who simply want thoughtful, restorative bodywork.

Therapeutic work does not have to feel clinical or impersonal. For clients who benefit from a slower or quieter approach, sessions may also incorporate gentle touch, stillness, breath awareness, body scans, meditation, deep-rest practices, rocking, and other somatic elements. My background in yoga, Tai Chi, swimming, stretching, and rehabilitation principles also informs how I understand movement and the body as a whole.

Vibroacoustic Integrated Bodywork

Vibroacoustic sessions combine individualized therapeutic massage with immersive sound and gentle whole-body vibration through the inHarmony vibroacoustic table.

Low-frequency sound is transmitted through the table while music and vibration create a layered sensory experience that can help clients settle more fully into treatment, shift attention away from persistent discomfort, and experience massage in a different way than on a traditional table.

The hands-on portion of the session remains tailored to your pain, tension, mobility, recovery, or relaxation goals. Depending on the session, therapeutic tuning forks may also be incorporated as an additional sound and vibration element.

Research into vibroacoustic stimulation has explored its possible effects on pain perception, stress, and physiological relaxation, although the evidence base is still developing.
