What to expect: A clinical approach

At the beginning of your massage appointment, we will review your health survey which will help me to determine the areas to focus on, review health issues that we would need to be aware of before we start your massage therapy visit, and let me know your goal you would like to work towards during your sessions.

During the session, we will discuss your postural habits, what activities your typical day involves, and what activities you may be limited in due to restrictions in motion or limited by pain. This will help me determine which manual techniques would be most appropriate for you.

My style of massage therapy starts with a base foundation of Swedish massage to promote increased relaxation of tight or tense muscles and increased circulation which aids in improving lymph flow.

I will deepen my work to include more specific manual techniques, such as myofascial release, strain/counter strain, trigger point therapy, cross friction massage, pin and stretch, passive stretching and joint mobilizations, to achieve increased fluid dynamics which improve fascial gliding, decrease joint stiffness, and reduce soft tissue restrictions.

Depending on findings, sometimes I follow up deeper manual work with decompression techniques, such as cupping or a decompression style Kinesio taping techniques which will help create space for more motion to occur with passive or active motion. This can aid in improving function and mobility to restricted connective tissue and joints.

After the visit, we will discuss things you can work on until your next massage appointment.

Important to note:

I am a licensed professional. I do not, and will not, tolerate any behavior that is unkind, unprofessional, or unsafe.

I will send you a text confirmation for your visit. Failure to cancel 24 hours in advance may result in being charged a $50 fee.

I use a clinical approach with specific intentions with each visit. If you choose to use a health spending account for payment, it will be your responsibility to obtain any documents needed.

What to wear:

Keep in mind, if you want your back and neck worked on, I will need access to this area.

Loose fitting shorts are often a good choice.

You will be appropriately draped so that the only area uncovered is the area I am currently working on

Please consider the following for your safety:

You will need to independently get on, off, and turn on the massage table
