About
Hello and Thank you for visiting my website.
About The Therapist:
My name is Marissa and I am a California State Licensed Massage Therapist (CAMTC Verification Search). I started my training in 2007 at Santa Barbara Bodyworks, in downtown Santa Barbara. I have graduated with over 1000 hours of massage training.
Ever since I was a little girl, my family had always told me I had "magic hands." I knew I wanted to study massage when I got older. I just didn't know I was going to fall in love with it. After taking the 200 hour Swedish Course with my sister in the summer of 2007, I knew I had found my calling. I am trained in many modalities, but my specialty and ultimate favorite is Visceral Manipulation (bellywork) and Pregnancy massage. In my opinion, the benefits from these types of massage, as well as all types of massage, goes beyond the limits of western medicane. Also, I am certified in the 1000 hour Holistic Health Care Practitioner from Santa Barbara Bodyworks.
I have been with my husband for close to two decades now. We have a beautiful family located here in Southern California. We love working on DIY projects around the house and running off to the next kid's activity.

Benefits of Massage:
Look at all the great things Massage does for you!
Experts estimate that upwards of ninety percent of disease is stress-related. And perhaps nothing ages us faster, internally and externally, than high stress. Massage is an effective tool for managing this stress, which translates into:
- Decreased anxiety.
- Enhanced sleep quality.
- Greater energy.
- Improved concentration.
- Increased circulation.
- Reduced fatigue.
Massage can also help specifically address a number of health issues. Bodywork can:
- Alleviate low-back pain and improve range of motion.
- Assist with shorter, easier labor for expectant mothers and shorten maternity hospital stays.
- Ease medication dependence.
- Enhance immunity by stimulating lymph flow—the body's natural defense system.
- Exercise and stretch weak, tight, or atrophied muscles.
- Help athletes of any level prepare for, and recover from, strenuous workouts.
- Improve the condition of the body's largest organ—the skin.
- Increase joint flexibility.
- Lessen depression and anxiety.
- Promote tissue regeneration, reducing scar tissue and stretch marks.
- Pump oxygen and nutrients into tissues and vital organs, improving circulation.
- Reduce postsurgery adhesions and swelling.
- Reduce spasms and cramping.
- Relax and soften injured, tired, and overused muscles.
- Release endorphins—amino acids that work as the body's natural painkiller.
- Relieve migraine pain.

Types of Massage Descriptions:
Visceral Manipulation- Improving health of the entire body through physical manipulation of vital organs in the belly. Promoting better digestion, increasing absorption of nutrients and elimination of wastes thereby improving the building blocks the body uses for all metabolism.
Prenancy Massage- Increasing health and facilitating comfort through this transformative time. Prenancy massage can reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle aches and joint pains, and improve labor outcomes and newborn health. Massage is a perfect time for the Mommie to be to have time for herself before the baby comes too.
Infant Massage- This focuses on teaching the caregivers how to connect and bring the mulitple benefits of massage to their baby. Marissa demonstrates all the moves and skills to the caregivers with her own doll, while they get to do hands on learning with their baby. This is a great add on to a pregnacy package gift to an expecing family.
Swedish- Is a fully body relaxation massage. This is best used to relieve stress and muscle tension, while increasing blood and lymph circulation, bringing balance back to the mind and body.
Deep Tissue and Sports- Is a therapy for reoccurring glitches, injured muscles, over strained muscles, restricted ranges of motion, muscular weakness. Providing rehabilitation and relief from specific musculoskeletal dysfunction, pain, adhesions and myofascial restrictions. Sports focuses on ligments and joints, where Deep Tissue focuses on muscles; the combination of the two helps with optimal function.
TemporoMandibular Joint (TMJ)- This focuses on releasing the musculature that affects the Temporomandibular Joint.
