About
Katie Roseen, Licensed Massage Therapist and Trauma Touch Therapist
Welcome!
Pause. Heal. Come home to your body.
What if... we are not doing the breathing, but we are being breathed? With every inhale, we receive it with gratitude. This force that is breathing us, giving us this gift of life, is wanting us to be very much alive with all the joy and aliveness that life has to offer. Bodywork can help us come back to the present moment and into reconnection with ourselves and life itself.
Listen.
Breathe.
Give yourself the gift of self-compassion.
Services Offered
Massage Therapy
Massage of soft tissues to bring relief to sore areas, release adhesions, and encourage increased circulation and absorption of nutrients. I work individually with each person to decide what areas we will focus on, the type of pressure, and whether or not you would like a massage focused on relaxing the body and nervous system or whether you would like a more focused, therapeutic massage.
John F. Barnes Myofascial Release Approach
This therapy focuses on the myofascial tissue, which surrounds every muscle and muscle fiber, and is also within every cell of our body. When there has been trauma to our tissues, either recently or many years ago, this fascia works to protect our tissues by dehydrating and creating a strong protective layer. This can be putting up to 2,000 lbs/square inch of pressure on nerves and organs in our bodies as well as creating holding patterns, changing our posture. Myofascial release is a gentle, yet connected therapy, where we can hold for anywhere from 3-15 minutes until the fascia tissue feels safe to release and rehydrate.
Techniques in Craniosacral Therapy
This is a very gentle therapy that works with the motion of the cerebrospinal fluid. With gentle holds on the neck and cranium we encourage movement between the cranial bones and optimal flow of the cerebrospinal fluid. This can help with migraines and headaches, TMJ, neck pain, other physical pain or emotional pain.
Prenatal Massage
This is a wonderful service to bring pain relief and support as you and your body go through many changes. Help your body relax and feel prepared to give birth.
Reflexology
Focus on the feet! This 60 minute routine supports 6 of our major body systems: respiratory, head and sinuses, lymphatic, reproductive, spine, and digestive. Discover full body ultra relaxation all from foot work!
Raindrop Technique
This service uses Young Living essential oils on the spine of the feet and the spine of your body. Using very specific movements with each different oil helps draw out toxins in our bodies. It is encouraged to come very hydrated to this service. Also, some people may be very sensitive to the strong oils, and it may cause burning sensations. If oils are something you work with, however, this can be a very cleansing and renewing service.
Trauma Touch Therapy
Not massage, but rather the invitation to bring awareness to sensations in your body. Sensation, when given our full, compassionate attention, are transformed and unwind out of the body. A series of 10 sessions is the usual amount to help assist clients in finding a new way of showing up in the world. 60 - 90 minute sessions.

Philosophy
Pressures and responsibilities in life often have us pushing full speed ahead, rarely pausing to pay attention to what our bodies are telling us and how we are holding onto those stresses. Many times it's not until we pause and tune in that we realize how much those things are keeping us from functioning at our optimal level. It is my goal to help stresses and emotions flow through our tissues and out of our bodies, so they don't weigh us down.
Why I Do What I Do
Most of my life was lived with a disconnect between body, mind, and spirit. When this disconnect finally showed up in full force in my life, there was a powerful pull to all things yoga, dance, and somatic-based therapies. By going into my body, I could finally resolve issues I had not been able to with my intellect. This was the only way I could find connection back to myself. I found out that when we reconnect to our bodies and our emotions, healing becomes abundant.
A Little About Me
When I'm not in the therapy room, you can find me on the shores of Lake Superior, contemplating her powerful pull and healing powers. You could also find me cruising through the nearby woods on my mountain bike, or meandering through the lush vegetation on foot. If there is any swing dancing, ecstatic dancing, salsa, Argentine tango, or contra-line dancing happening in town, I'm either there in person or in heart! I have a cat who loves to play! I recently completed a trauma-conscious yoga teacher training program with Svälja Yoga, where I was trained in more ways to hold space for people who have been through many different types of trauma.
I look forward to working with and holding space for you on your healing journey.
Gratitude.
