About The Practitioner
My name is Jana Davis, LMT, EPP. I am licensed in the state of Arizona currently. My practice is called Hands of Banana's because I'm Jana Banana and they're my hands. Fun fact- a cluster of bananas is called a hand and a single banana is called a finger!
I have been a massage & energy therapist for the last 15+ yrs. I provide a variety of services to assist YOU in optimizing your health physically, mentally, and energetically. This is team work - we work together to bring you into a state of excellent health!
I studied and graduated in massage in Los Angeles, California at the Institute for Psycho-Structural Balancing (IPSB) https://www.ipsb.com/ and in Clarkdale/Cottonwood, Arizona at the Arizona School of Integrated Studies (ASIS) https://www.asismassage.edu/. I am honored to have attended these 2 schools and am grateful for the immense quality of education I received there. I studied Western, Eastern, and Energetic modalities. I have well over 1000 hrs of training and counting. I continue to deepen my knowledge in a wide range of skills. I am currently expanding my Polarity Therapy skills - https://polaritytherapy.org/. Polarity is a complete healthcare system that includes energetic body work, diet, exercise, sound, and personal process. I am also studying herbalism with a goal of Registered Herbalist.
I believe that through good diet including proper hydration, exercise, connection/experience with nature, preventative health care - such as body and energy work, fulfilling relationships, a spiritual practice, meditation, and adequate sleep we humans can achieve and maintain excellent health to carry us long and joyfully through our lives. A tall order sometimes- I know.
I am an experimental gardener, welder and fabricator of steel and bronze, and I occasionally make art with metal and neon. I get outside as much as possible, travel whenever I can, love cooking, spend much time with family and friends, learn new things incessantly, and love entertaining and being entertained by my 2 hilarious kitties. Life is good.

Hours And Scheduling
New Clients
All new clients will need to arrive 10 mins early to fill out paperwork and do a quick intake with me.
New clients will also be required to make a 50% prepayment on their 1st appt in order to book and confirm the appt. This can be done via Zelle or Google Pay.
Same Day Appointments
Same day appointments will require 50% prepayment in order to book the appointment as you will be past the 24 hr cancellation window.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone’s life. In our desire to be effective and fair to all clients, the following policies are honored:
24 hour advance notice is required when cancelling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment. If you are unable to give us 24 hours advance notice you will be charged 50% of your appointment fee. This amount must be paid prior to your next scheduled appointment.
No Call, No-shows
Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their appointment without calling for whatever reason will be considered a No Call, No Show and will be charged the full amount for their missed appointment. If someone is a No Call, No Show, all further appts will require prepayment in full.
Late Arrivals
If you arrive late, your session may be shortened by the minutes you are late in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Depending upon how late you arrive, I will then determine if there is enough time remaining to start a treatment. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for the full session price. Out of respect and consideration to your therapist and other customers, please plan accordingly and be on time.
I look forward to serving you!

Benefits Of Massage
Experts estimate that upwards of ninety percent of disease is stress-related. And perhaps nothing ages us faster, internally and externally, than high stress. Massage is an effective tool for managing this stress, which translates into:
- Decreased anxiety.
- Enhanced sleep quality.
- Greater energy.
- Improved concentration.
- Increased circulation.
- Reduced fatigue.
Massage can also help specifically address a number of health issues. Bodywork can:
- Alleviate low-back pain and improve range of motion.
- Assist with shorter, easier labor for expectant mothers and shorten maternity hospital stays.
- Ease medication dependence.
- Enhance immunity by stimulating lymph flow—the body's natural defense system.
- Exercise and stretch weak, tight, or atrophied muscles.
- Help athletes of any level prepare for, and recover from, strenuous workouts.
- Improve the condition of the body's largest organ—the skin.
- Increase joint flexibility.
- Lessen depression and anxiety.
- Promote tissue regeneration, reducing scar tissue and stretch marks.
- Pump oxygen and nutrients into tissues and vital organs, improving circulation.
- Reduce postsurgery adhesions and swelling.
- Reduce spasms and cramping.
- Relax and soften injured, tired, and overused muscles.
- Release endorphins—amino acids that work as the body's natural painkiller.
- Relieve migraine pain.
Preparing for Your Session
What do I need to do to be ready for my massage you ask!
- Please arrive on time.
- Please be clean and as odor and scent neutral as possible. Excessive sweat, dirt, strong body odors or perfumes/colognes should be avoided. We all have different sensitivities so it's best to be as neutral as can be. I will do the same for you.
- Please don't show up to your appt sick. I'll send you home with a late cancel fee. Massage can make your illness worse in some cases.
- Please do NOT come for an appt if you have covid or have been exposed to someone who has tested positive or is showing symptoms or who was exposed to someone else who has covid. You can reschedule for an appt 2 weeks out from illness or exposure. No late cancel fees will be applied in these situations. Just stay home, get better, and be safe.
- If you have any kind of skin infection, fungus, boil, or other contagious issue you must be treated and free of it before booking an appt. Refer back to #4.
- Please do not bring guests with you, especially unattended children. This also includes pets and service animals. I already have 2 cats who do not take kindly to other animals. My home studio is not set up with a waiting area and I like to keep sessions as uninterrupted as possible so you get the best outcome possible.
- If you have any health issue that contraindicates massage you will need to provide a doctors note that approves you getting work done. Cancer, serious cardiovascular disease, uncontrolled blood pressure, and recent surgery are some examples of things requiring a doctors note. We'll go over this when we book your appt.
- Be ready to relax and unwind.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where will my massage or bodywork session take place?
Your massage or bodywork session will take place in a warm, comfortable, quiet room. Soft music may be played to help you relax. You will lie on a table especially designed for your comfort.
Must I be completely undressed?
Most massage and bodywork techniques are traditionally performed with the client unclothed; however, it is entirely up to you what you want to wear. You should undress to your level of comfort. You will be properly draped/covered during the entire session.
Will the practitioner be present when I disrobe?
The practitioner will leave the room while you undress, relax onto the table, and cover yourself with a clean sheet and blanket or towel.
Will I be covered during the session?
You will be properly draped at all times to keep you warm and comfortable. Only the area being worked on will be exposed.
What parts of my body will be massaged?
A typical full-body session will include work on your back, arms, legs, feet, hands, head, neck, and shoulder.
What will the massage or bodywork feel like?
A relaxing Swedish massage is often a baseline for clients. In a general Swedish massage, your session may start with broad, flowing strokes that will help calm your nervous system and relax exterior muscle tension. As your body becomes relaxed, pressure will gradually be increased to relax specific areas and relieve areas of muscular tension. Often, a light oil or lotion is used to allow your muscles to be massaged without causing excessive friction to the skin. The oil also helps hydrate your skin. You should communicate immediately if you feel any discomfort so that another approach may be taken. Massage and bodywork are most effective when your body is not resisting.
Are there different kinds of massage and bodywork?
There are numerous types of massage and bodywork; various techniques utilize different strokes, including basic rubbing strokes, rocking movement, posture and movement re-education, application of pressure to specific points, and more. We can discuss which methods may be most appropriate for you.
What should I do during the massage or bodywork session?
Prior to the massage, feel free to ask the practitioner any questions about the technique or the upcoming session. During the massage, make yourself comfortable. The practitioner will either gently move you or tell you what is needed throughout the session (such as lifting your arm). Many people just close their eyes and completely relax, communicating if/when they need more or less pressure, another blanket, or anything else relevant to the session. If you have any questions regarding the session or about the particular technique you are receiving, feel free to ask.
How will I feel after the massage or bodywork session?
Most people feel very relaxed. Some experience freedom from long-term aches and pains developed from tension or repetitive activity. After an initial period of feeling slowed down, people often experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity which can last for days.
What are the benefits of massage and bodywork?
Massage and bodywork can help release chronic muscular tension and pain, improve circulation, increase joint flexibility, reduce mental and physical fatigue and stress, promote faster healing of injured muscular tissue, improve posture, and reduce blood pressure. Massage and bodywork is also known to promote better sleep, improve concentration, reduce anxiety and create an overall sense of well-being.
Are there any medical conditions that would make massage or bodywork inadvisable?
Yes. That's why it's imperative that, before you begin your session, the practitioner asks general health questions. It is very important that you inform the practitioner of any health problems or medications you are taking. If you are under a doctor's care, it is strongly advised that you receive a written recommendation for massage or bodywork prior to any session. Depending on the condition, approval from your doctor may be required.
