About Me:

I have always known that my calling is helping others. My focus is holistic healing methods and the mind body connection.

I specialize in providing integrated therapeutic massage to address problem areas, while allowing for ultimate relaxation. I also provide focused sessions to help with specific problems such as headaches, neck pain, issues with the arms, hands, wrists, legs, knees, feet, and hips.

I have trained in multiple types of massage including Swedish, Myokinesthetic, SMRT (Spontaneous Muscle Release Technique), Lymphatic Drainage, Acupressure, and Chair Massage. I am also a Reiki Master Teacher. I will be offering Somatic Massage soon.

SMRT (Spontaneous Muscle Release Technique), is a positional release bodywork method that uses specific, gentle, movements to help the body release muscle tension and realign. During a session, the practitioner applies light pressure to a muscle for 20 – 60 second, prompting the tissue to relax on its own. This technique works on muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia, and can be effective for a variety of conditions such as headaches, chronic pain, improved mobility, and postural imbalances. Clients report pain relief and relaxation, often falling asleep during the treatment.

Myokinesthetic Therapy is used to identify issues and manipulate specific muscles to balance the nervous system, relieve pain and restore movement. Treatments can take as little as fifteen minutes.

Reiki Therapy is based on the theory that energy flows through the body. Reiki practitioners place their hands on or just above the body to help guide energy to lead to balance and healing. Reiki may help with calming the nervous system, reducing pain, and promoting healing.

In addition to my massage practice, I am also a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Addictions Therapist, holding a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Therapy and a Masters in Addiction Therapy from The University of the Cumberlands. To avoid confusion, you will be asked to sign paperwork clarifying that any conversations that take place during your massage therapy appointment are not to be considered mental health or addiction therapy.

Cancellation Policy
We understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone’s life. In our desire to be effective and fair to all clients, the following policies are honored:

24 hour advance notice is required when cancelling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment. If you are unable to give us 24 hours advance notice you will be charged the full amount of your appointment. This amount must be paid prior to your next scheduled appointment.

No-shows
Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their appointment for whatever reason will be considered a “no-show.” They will be charged for their “missed” appointment.

Late Arrivals
If you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Depending upon how late you arrive, your therapist will then determine if there is enough time remaining to start a treatment. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for the “full” session. Out of respect and consideration to your therapist and other customers, please plan accordingly and be on time.
