About
William Bennett is a licensed massage therapist with over 10 years of experience. He graduated in 1999 from WMTI (Wellness & Massage Training Institute) located in Woodridge, IL, and is a Certified Member of ABMP (Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals).
William’s philosophy embraces the natural ability of the body to promote stress relief and relaxation when a safe, nurturing environment is provided. He believes that there is a definite mind-body connection, and utilizes techniques that promote physical change in a gentle and painless manner, allowing the unique ability of the body to heal itself. “Bodywork is less about doing, and more about being - to allow one's body to be, and heal thyself.” He also believes that effective bodywork is different and unique for each person and encourages everyone to find that space for themselves.
With a heavy emphasis on creating movement within the body and creating mind-body awareness through proprioception, modalities incorporated in his bodywork style are Three Lever of Tensegrity, Positional Release, Pressure Sensitivity, Presence, Energy and Intention, Reiki, Tuning Fork (Sound) Therapy, Floating Joint, Esalen Massage (Creative Flow), Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage, Active Assisted Stretching and Seated Massage.
If you have not yet found relief from chronic pain or any other long standing health issue that may even have an unknown cause - physical or emotional - massage and bodywork may be of benefit in alleviating these underlying structural imbalances and releasing cellular memories of trauma.
"Disease is nothing else but an attempt on the part of the body to rid itself of morbific matter."
~Dr. Thomas Sydenham
William says:
“Your physical form and emotional/mental form are intertwined and infused - much like a circle - your emotional state and mind directly affect your physical body; as well as your physical body affecting your mind, feeding off each other. When you receive bodywork, your body naturally learns what feels good, and when you are open and receptive of this Mind-Body connection, the ability to change your mind, mental/emotional states, and physical body is possible through your own developing Awareness - thus creating improved health and a serene state of well-being... to be at peace with yourself is to be at peace with the world.
Touch is a vital component to health and well-being. I firmly believe if people received more healthy, human touch through massage and bodywork on a regular basis, our society would be more at peace with itself, thus creating a better world to live in.
Change your body, change your mind, change your life.”
