About
This is my passion. It gives me joy, pride and purpose.
Being born and raised in Alaska instilled in me a great respect for all things Natural and Wild. This is ultimately what shifted my childhood vision from being a medical doctor to a massage therapist… and perhaps is why I’ve also done things like whitewater rafting and rock climbing.
The dream was always to be a healer. That is what I felt in my heart. The one thing I was sure about throughout my childhood; well, that, and that I never wanted a desk job. I thought this meant being a doctor. As I matured, however, I found that massage therapy would give me a much more nurturing, natural, and personal approach to helping people; getting to use my hands was just a bonus. Thus, the research into massage schools started.
I had high standards for myself academically and knew I needed a well-rounded introduction to massage therapy that incorporated sciences (anatomy, physiology, etc…) as well as a great variety of modalities. Having experience in energy work made me think I’d favor modalities like acupressure, shiatsu, and cranial sacral therapy. It turns out I was fascinated with the immediate benefits and application of modalities like trigger point therapy, structural bodywork integration, injury massage and sports massage. The potential to vastly alter a person’s body towards alignment and to reduce their pain and suffering was JUST the thing I had been chasing since childhood. It was here that my specialty was born. And now, more than fifteen years later, I’m still adding to and refining my techniques in order to enhance my chosen specialty and to serve my clients/patients to the best of my abilities.
A critical part of my massage therapy sessions is that each one is completely customized and catered to the individual. I will never limit the depths of my work to a single modality or "menu" item. I use the wide-array of modalities I have learned to cater to the ever-changing body and its needs in any given session.
When I relieve someone’s aches and pains, increase their mobility, accelerate their recovery, reduce their stress and anxiety, and enhance their well-being, I am the one honored to take part in their restoration and rejuvenation.
Being a massage therapist isn’t simply a career choice. It happens to be my childhood dream. I get to live this dream every single time I work on someone.
This is my passion. It gives me joy. It gives me pride. It gives me purpose.
