Michelle Hipsag

Hello, my name is Michelle and I am a Medical massage therapist. I graduated with an associate of science degree in medical massage. Previously, I worked for years as a nurse in various units of the hospital and clinic before deciding to pursue a degree in this field. My decision to further my education in massage was an adventure to say the least. I had long debated furthering my nursing education, but after seeing the benefits of massage with patients I decided to look into the field of massage. I began my education but my course was changed for a time due to life. I had a life changing event from an accident that resulted in a traumatic brain injury and small stroke. When I came to my senses, I had multiple effects on my left side and thanks to my previous rehab knowledge and recently studied massage skills, over time I was able to regain the use of my left side and go back and finish school. I would never say that this was a bad thing, because in this experience I was the patient, and that is a wealth of knowledge that furthered my opinion on the benefits of massage. It is my goal and hope to help others to not give up, and keep pushing towards their wellness goals so that they may have the most optimal quality of life, while utilizing the benefits of medical massage therapy.
