About

I believe we are all in need of more positive touch in our lives. As our lives become ever more rushed and pressured, we find fewer and fewer opportunities for actual physical contact with other people. On the clinical side, massage has been shown to increase circulation, improve respiration, ease digestion, and facilitate recovery from muscular injury and soreness. On the energetic side, it relaxes the body and mind, and calms the spirit. Massage eases us into a slower way of life, where we can lie on a warm table with gentle music and calming hands to work out life’s stresses. My massages are designed to promote both healing and relaxation.

I have been a massage therapist since August 2007. I completed my professional training at the Heartwood Massage & Bodywork Institute in Garberville, CA, August 2007, was awarded national certification in December 2007, and have spent subsequent years practicing massage both privately, and in multiple high-end day spas. Working with a wide variety of clients including athletes, weekend warriors and professionals.

In my free time, I enjoy the outdoors, yoga, movies, cooking, and a good book.

I’ve trained in a variety of massage techniques, and I generally use a combination of them to accomplish our goals. If you’re curious about trying something new, let’s do it! We’ll work together to figure out which techniques are right for you. This is YOUR massage! Let’s customize your sessions to be exactly what you need.

Active Myofascial Therapy
For those dealing with limited range of motion, chronic injuries, recent injuries, or areas of constant tightness/stiffness. This style of bodywork is an active, rather than passive, style of work. We’ll work together to increase range of motion, and decrease stiffness and chronic pain. We’ll accomplish this with neuromuscular re-education, and strengthening of weak muscles, and stretching and lengthening tight muscles and fascia.

Deep Tissue & Full Body Massage
For those experiencing chronic pain or who just like a deeper massage. Trigger points are manipulated to release tension, and restore muscle integrity and balance to the body overall.

Swedish Full Body Massage
Need to relax and let go? Enjoy a light-to-medium pressure massage. Flowing connective strokes improve circulation, invigorate muscles, and relieve tension.

Thai Massage
Thai massage is done clothed. Be sure to wear loose fitting, comfortable clothes. It’s a great technique to bring balance and flexibility to the body. Applying pressure with finger, palms, forearms, and elbows, we’ll work out tight spots and move in and out of yoga-like stretches.

Zen Shiatsu
Bring balance and harmony to the body’s energy with Shiatsu. This form of bodywork uses acupressure points along the meridians (energy channels) to improve flow and restore balance. Techniques used are patting, shaking, pinching, rolling, firm broad pressure, and assisted stretching.

This form of bodywork is done clothed. Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing.
