Hello! I'm Mary Coon - thank you for visiting my site. Here is a little bit of information on my education and experience.

For the past 35 years I've been in healthcare. I began with private home care and hospice when my children were young. I trained to be an R.N. - but moved onto medical massage. For the past 15 years I've been practicing therapeutic massage.

I was trained in Connecticut at the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy graduating in 2010. My first practice was in New Milford, CT for 5 years. I moved to Colorado in 2015 and I had a great practice in Mancos for several years. I thought I was going to retire there. But life had other plans. When the pandemic happened we sold our home in Mancos, CO. In 2022 we moved to Farmington, NM. I got licensed and began once again with all new clients in a new state. At the beginning of 2025 we moved to Aztec, NM where I am currently practicing. Taking a deep breath - I hope to stay here for a long, long time. We love it here.

Why would you want to schedule an appointment to see me? And what makes me unique from many massage therapists? Good questions - and very important that you know the answers.

I have trained extensively and continue to take classes regularly to stay up to date with my state license requirements. It's important to find a licensed therapist and one that has had years of experience. I have a medical background in nursing - so my understanding of the human body is above and beyond just having a massage license. I have spent a lifetime trying to understand the mind, body, and soul connection. And if you add in decades of life experiences and wisdom - well you get a session that is powerful, intuitive, and above and beyond a typical massage.

I love what I do - and believe it to be an honor when someone trusts me and allows me to help. I do not take that lightly. Trust, good communication, and teamwork is vital for both myself and my client. I will enlist your help with breathing, movement, engaging muscles, and feedback on pressure, temperature, and pain levels. Your involvement in your own body healing is so important as you know your body better than anyone. We can talk about different perspectives on how you can manage your anxiety and alleviate your pain and muscle tension. I'm there to provide support and give you tools to continue your healing long after you leave my office.
