Benefits of Equine Bodywork
Equine bodywork has the unique ability to benefit horses, both physically and mentally, ranging from the high-performing athlete to the retired old-faithful horse. Those benefits can include, but are not limited to, muscular tension release, increased flexibility, improved posture, improved circulation, immune support, toxin removal from the body, faster recovery, injury prevention, improved coat and shine, increased stamina, and improved relaxation.
Services Offered – Comprehensive Equine Bodywork Session
Within each bodywork session, your horse's body will be addressed from head-to-hoof and will include:
- Static and dynamic assessment
- Various bodywork techniques following the Equinology® Approach including sports massage, myofascia release stretching, soft-tissue mobilization, range of motion exercises, positioning exercises, muscle activation techniques, and focal point (stress and trigger points) work.
- Session report outlining static/dynamic observations, changes since previous session, follow-up owner massage moves, and sensitivity points identified during and addressed during the session.
I appreciate viewing horses in their "home" before beginning a bodywork session (stall/paddock/pasture), so please don't feel any pressure to have your horse haltered and groomed prior to a bodywork session. Following a session, your horse will need to be power-walked 15-20 minutes before returning to a stall or pasture. I am happy to provide this service for an additional $5. If you would like take advantage of this service, please let me know when scheduling your bodywork session so I can plan accordingly!
Time Off Post Session: After a bodywork session, I ask that horses to not be ridden for 24 hours. Please keep this in mind when booking a session.
Travel fee: Provided upon inquiry; applies to those outside of a 35-mile driving distance from Tulsa, OK 74105.
Time allotted: 1.5-2 hours depending on your horse's needs**
**When scheduling your horse's first bodywork session, please plan for the session to take about 2.5-3 hours.
